This was inspired by a friend of mine who I met up with a few days ago shopping for a wedding cake.... We visited quite a few bakeries and private sellers who specialise in weddings and was astounded at just how much a wedding cake cost these days £150.00 plus just for the cake, then you have extras, specialised decorations and so on it's amazing you can pay a small fortune.... Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking it, Weddings are special occasions and anything that makes it a memorable one is a good thing right..... Well so I thought and so I kept telling my friend... but she was having none of it..... I'll make it myself Micheal "WHAT"
Get out of here you make a cake..... you don't bake lol... she ordered a cake after all that and paid a whopping £250+ does look lovely tho and well worth the money.
It did get me thinking! "What a good idea for a work at home job to post on my blog" Recession proof, creative and ideal for those of you who love to bake, all the ingredients for a good work at home opportunity.
Why not work at home as a Custom Cake Designer... it's definitely profitable and perfect for stay at home Moms and Dads who love to bake.

How do I make money from my Designed Cakes
Word of mouth..... Experiment with your family and friends. Start small with birthday cakes and build up your confidence. When you feel more able start advertising within the community by posting little ads at the post office, local news agents even community centres and shopping areas. As time goes by you will build reputation and a loyal following.
You could be making money from local sources quite soon and easily earn as little as £25+ per week or £1200+ per year, enough for a holiday or even Christmas.
Check to see if a Custom Cake Designer already provides a service in your locality, if so see if you can either match them or beat them on price. Competition is surely healthy. Get savvy with the internet and provide online access to your product in the form of an online shop or a portfolio website/blog of your cake designs.
Always take photos of the cakes you design..... building a portfolio of your capabilities will help you gain more custom and also improves reputation.
I hope that helps I know it's just a few tips but it is worth considering especially when times are difficult.
