3 Marketing Tips To help you Survive Online As An Affiliate Marketer
Affiliate marketers are always in search of those markets that payout big, they’re not hard to spot because you will see hordes of affiliates jumping on the same old band wagon hoping to make a quick profit….. sadly 90% will fail to make it profitable and those that do succeed are using tried and tested methods of marketing that never seem to fail. Take it slow look at your market and analyse those that are successful.
Through analysis and research you will discover common marketing techniques used by the top marketers that can be learned and put into practice. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to increase your sales and survive online as an affiliate marketer.
What are these three tips?
1. Use unique web pages to promote each product you are marketing.
Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a separate site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.
Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding of what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product or services. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing. More importantly have an understanding of the product yourself – it’s a poor affiliate who tries to sell a product that they have never even researched or used themselves – Research is key here so always get to know your market place, even go as far as asking the vendor for a trial. If you find that your not keen on a product, then leave it be.
You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and they will want to find out more.
2. Offer free reports to your readers and build your lists.
Position your free reports at the very top side of your page so they cannot be missed and if at all possible place in a strategic place around the middle of the page for when they scroll down (Even use a floating advertisement that moves with the page) Make sure you have an auto-responder service such as Aweber to collect those that sign-up for your report (It’s important to build a list). Create regular auto-responder messages that will be mailed to your list. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect, so never use all your messages to force a sale but instead offer lots of free advice -offer an ezine and giveaway bonuses, your readers will love this and will slowly begin to accept you, trust in you and eventually see you as an expert – This is key as it will allow you to promote products again and again – Your list is your bread and butter so always keep them happy.
Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never to return again. By placing useful information into their in-boxes at certain specified periods, you can gently remind them of the product that maybe they put off purchasing till a later date (timing is everything). Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.
Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. If at all possible, avoid using the word “free” there are older spam filters in use that perceive the word “free” as junk so you could be missing out on potential sales. Try to convince those who signed up for your free reports of the benefits of using your products or services, but don’t be to pushy, remember your reputation.
3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product.
Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that are focusing on your target customers and what you have
written might just grab someones attention.
Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site a day.
Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or purchase your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits to your website in a day, it can translate in to 10 sales based on the average statistic, so don’t just sit in front of your website praying for visitors, get out there and promote your business - more visits = greater profits.
The tips given above are not really that difficult to put into practice, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part. It’s more important to think long term… remember your not in this for fun, it’s a business so make long term plans – the truth is there are no quick routes to success – success takes time and hard work on your part but once you’ve found that system that works for you, stick with it and build upon it, don’t jeopardize it for the sake of a quick buck.
